Description

Monte Isola is the largest lake island in Europe; its main beauties are the landscapes seen from the most angles that lead you to a paradise of the past. It starts from Pisogne along the cycle path that runs along the Iseo Lake. You arrive at Monte Isola by ferry and following the coastal clockwise, a ride through the olive trees leads to Sensole, from which you can admire the nearby island of San Paolo; then, the road is steep and leads to the village of Menzino, where majestic stands the Rocca Oldofredi-Martinengo. Continuing north, you will meet the small town of Sinchignano and, continuing you will reach Siviano, capital of the island, fortified village in the Middle Ages, with houses towers and narrow streets. From here, facilitated by our ebikes, a challenging climb leads to the ancient villages of Cure and Masse, known for the handicraft production of the “Salami di Monte Isola”; from Cure, then, a cobbled road reaches twenty minutes to the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Ceriola, which dominates from the top of the mountain offering tourists a breathtaking view.
